SRARNZ Herpetological Research Award

The purpose of the award is to fund projects with the potential to advance New Zealand herpetology (including development opportunities for early-career researchers) and/or conservation of New Zealand herpetofauna. In addition, one award will be available for a project that engages with (or is proposed by) mana whenua. The grant may be used to support the researcher directly with a bursary or contribute to research costs such as field travel, consumables, or equipment purchase or hire. The amount of the award may vary from year to year, and the SRARNZ Council may grant several small awards from a total pool.

Selection criteria
Awards will be based on the quality of the proposal (i.e., scientific merit), potential to advance New Zealand herpetology, and potential benefit to New Zealand herpetofauna. One award will be offered to a project that engages (or is proposed by) mana whenua. The final decision for awarding grants rests with the SRARNZ Council. SRARNZ Council reserves the right not to allocate this award if no applications meet these criteria.

Application
All applications must be made on the official application form and must be submitted electronically. Scanned documents are acceptable. Completed forms should be emailed to the Research Grants Officer. You will receive an acknowledgement of your application. If you have not received an acknowledgement within five working days, please contact the SRARNZ Secretary (srarnz.secretary@gmail.com). Late applications will not be accepted.
